Busy Bee Cleaners, Inc.

No one likes cleaning up after a sticky honey extraction except the bees!

I make sure the equipment is far from both hives (to prevent robbing) and then let them have at it!!

  1. How cool is that, that the bees clean all the honey residue off! Fantastic.

    • And they are so excited about doing it!! :-)

      • WOW I never knew they would do that!
        Awesome photos thanks!

      • It’s fun to watch, and the photos don’t do it justice!
You just have to make sure you don’t put the sticky equipment too close to the hives.
They look scary, but they are so focused on the honey they are unlikely to sting!! :-)

      • lol unlike the 50+ yellow jackets on my leg last spring OUCH

      • Oh, that’s just dreadful!! :-(

      • I have a really bad swollen left leg since it was pinned under my drivers seat when I was rear ended by a casino tour bus in 2000 so it has less feeling so I am working in flower beds I saw a few bees told the dog to go lie down and I turned back and my left left was yellow and moving and I was in Black pants :(

      • Yes, I had a similar experience wearing black socks and clogs. My left ankle was swollen for a month. But in my case it was my own bees. I was in the hive early in the morning, and not as gentle as I should have been…

      • OUCH you know I know how you felt.

I got bubbles on my foot and the doctor said “You didn’t think to go to the hospital or call me?” I told him I felt no swelling of throat, etc. he said I was too tough I would die before I thought it was time to yell for HELP lol You can’t be a sissy and drive BIG RIGS lol I am glad you and I both made it through.

      • Me too!
My philosophy is if I’m still conscious, it can’t be that bad… :-)

      • Me too! lol
I got bit by a siper they say Black Widow and I went out and leg swelled and then I was shaking and freezing and thought I had the BUG so I never called anyone who expects a spider like that in NH in a semi trailer but I hauled mail from all over :(

      • I love all kinds of critters and bugs except spiders and snakes. Too dangerous for me!!
Well, the little snakes are okay… :-)

  2. Bees are the best for clearing up honey! Enjoy your crop! xx
